This article describes the Lucent Sky AVM license.
Description of the Lucent Sky AVM license
Lucent Sky AVM is licensed with both User Client Access License (User CAL) and Core License. Client Access License determines the number of users who can access CLEAR Engine running on a Lucent Sky AVM server at the same time, while Core License determines the maximum number of processor cores can be used by CLEAR Engine running on a Lucent Sky AVM server.
An user CAL is required for every user who accesses CLEAR Engine. One User CAL is required for every user, regardless of the number of devices they use for that access.
Core License determines the number of CPU cores CLEAR Engine can utilize for vulnerability identification and remediation. Functionalities not related to vulnerability identification and remediation, such as providing access via the web UI and generating reports, are not restricted by the number of Core Licenses installed.
For example, a copy of Lucent Sky AVM is installed on a server with two Intel Xeon E5-2660 processors (each with eight-core with HyperThreading) and has 10 Core Licenses. The CLEAR Engine on the server will be able to utilize 10 of the 16 CPU cores available for vulnerability identification and remediation.
